What Are The Indiana Jones Movies All About?Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark

The early movies of the franchise see the story of the titular character living a life of adventure and exploration across the world. A tenured professor of archeology, Indiana Jones has traveled everywhere in search of different sacred artifacts. Along the way, he has faced the likes of Nazi officers, bloodthirsty cults, and Soviet agents in his journeys, all while putting his life at risk to achieve his goal.

Since the beginning of the franchise, Harrison Ford has led the cast as the titular Jones with the likes of Alison Doody, Karen Allen, and Ke Huy Quan starring alongside him as they assist the archaeologist in his adventures. Despite the large gap between movies throughout the years, Ford has always remained committed to the character and has expressed sadness at this being his final Indian Jones movie, saying, "When I’m gone, he’s gone."
